The bus was totally empty and we were the only passengers. Never in my life have I been the only passengers on a bus. Our next stop was Garrett's for popcorn, in her eight years of life Meghan has never tasted Garrett's popcorn and the guy in the store and I agreed that it might have constituted child abuse. So before anyone reports me to DCFS, I have remedied the situation and introduced my child to the best cheese popcorn on the planet. They have the best carmel corn too, but she won't eat that. Since we are mostly free to do as we please this summer and we have a bus pass that will take us anywhere we want to go, we decided to make a Garrett's delivery and went up to the far north end of the city to bring Garrett's to my mom at work. Getting there was really quite simple and my mom was pleasantly surprised, getting home a bit of a different story. Apparently U2 is in town and apparently Meghan and I were the only two people on the planet not going to the concert and unfortunately for us the concert was located between where we were up north and our house. So we got to sit on a packed bus with 10,000 of our closest U2 fans until we got downtown we bailed on that bus and got on a different route which was less crowded but still stuck in concert traffic and trip which should have taken an hour at most, took more than two hours. Still it was a pretty terrific day (I can say that now that we're home and not stuck in U2 traffic anymore.)
