Apparently a big part of the Summer of Fun is going to consist of craft activities. I guess this isn't a huge suprise to anyone who knows Meghan and I, but still we are certainly headed down the crafting path. Beyond the many Passport to Fun activities we've done, today we headed north and got Meghan signed up for some sewing and quilting classes at JoAnn. I never really learned how to sew, beyond a button her or there and beyond some very simple embroidery I can't do much of anything. So bright and early monday we'll head back there and she'll learn how to sew a pillow case. We also purchased her supplies and most importantly a sewing bag to keep them in. I'm not actually sure if it was most important but it seemed like it might be. The morning though started out with us heading to Michael's for the India Passport to Fun activity. I can't begin to tell you how many positive comments Meghan has gotten on her hat that is now sporting 9 different hat swaps. Today was a milestone in train/bus riding we had our 70th (yes I'm keeping track) ride. Not bad considering it's only been 20 days, of course days like today up the numbers since our travels had 8 different legs on various types of transit. It makes things simple and interesting, not to mention cost effective. It has greatly added to our exploring of the city and the suburbsand fits right in with the Summer of Fun.
