Day Twenty Nine

We're home!  Chicago is HOT.  Chicago is supposed to be very very hot for the rest of the week.  I knew we should have turned and gone north instead of heading back south, somewhere in Canada is probably cool right now.  But alas we're home and Camp has been left behind for another year.  Last nights storm made waking up this morning difficult.  Plus it was one of those mornings where the heat and humidity of the day set in quickly. According to Charlie today was the first day of the "Week of Awesome" but it was hot and that's just not awesome.  So once breakfast was completed we packed up our gear, loaded the car, said our goodbyes and hit the road.  We made good time, monday morning traffic is light and we were at our usual stop for blueberries quickly.  We didn't dilly dally, because it was HOT there too.  We did stop twice in Indiana once for lunch and gas and once for sparklers (because the good kind are illegal in Illinois and we're bored with the kind that are legal.)  I've never been to one of those fireworks warehouse stores, it was huge and there were bins and bins of things to light on fire and after making our purchase of $10 worth of sparklers, they gave us a bag full of free fireworks which I'm probably too chicken to ever light.    Then it was back to the HOT city and after dropping off blueberries we came home to unload the car and get ready for the real world.  But for a change tonight I sleep in a real bed, perhaps my shoulder will eventually forgive me for making it sleep on the hard ground for four nights.

This is Charlie, he wandered into our picture talking about the "week of awesome", he may actually be singing the theme song for the "week of awesome" in this picture.

Nothing says goodbye like a kick in the pants...

The annual picture by the blueberry bush.  I'm not sure which one is growing faster, her or the blueberry bush
