Day Twenty Seven
After accidentally over sleeping because I forgot to add an hour to the time on my watch when I looked at it the first time I woke up. We were on our way to pick up my dad and head into Whitehall, Michigan for breakfast at Gary's. Once that was accomplished we dropped my dad off at camp and we headed out to the closest Michael's to do the United Kingdom Passport to Fun activity. By then it was early afternoon and texts back to camp revealed that most everyone was in town doing laundry so despite the fact that we didn't need to do laundry we joined them at the Soap Opera. I've spent many many hours over the years at the Soap Opera. From there we took my dad back to camp and headed up to the campsite to prepare to cook dinner. Saturday dinner was Turkey, cooked in a dutch oven over the fire with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob (corn cooked after being soaked in water and then placed directly in the coals to cook on the fire.) Some of the best meals ever are eaten outdoor after being cooked on a fire. The evening was low key with lots of laughter and a beautiful full moon.
